MIREX AND BANDEX WILL COLLABORATE TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THE DOMINICAN EXPORT SECTOR

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic._ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) and the National Export Bank (BANDEX) signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement, with the objective of developing a joint work agenda to strengthen the actions carried out by both institutions in favor of the country's export sector.

This instrument signed by Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez and the general manager of BANDEX, Juan Mustafá, establishes the bases for both institutions to jointly carry out collaboration activities, exchange of information, programs, project development and other actions that contribute to the promotion of exports. .

Minister Álvarez highlighted the importance of inter-institutional collaboration in support of national productive sectors with export capacity, to achieve economic reactivation in the shortest time possible. He also stated that the Dominican diplomatic missions abroad play a fundamental role in the international promotion of the country and, from now on, they will collaborate in attracting sources of capitalization for BANDEX, identifying sources of non-reimbursable cooperation.

For his part, the general manager of BANDEX, Juan Mustafá, stated that “exports are the transversal axis for the recovery of the economy in the short term and today more than ever it is necessary for diplomatic missions to dedicate themselves to working to achieve that financing arrives to boost the Dominican export sector.” He maintained that the Dominican productive sectors need financing at low interest rates that can make them more competitive at a time when the economies of our competitors will work to strengthen their export capabilities, so the Dominican Republic cannot be left behind.

This agreement is made in follow-up to axis number two of the foreign policy of the Government of President Luis Abinader, which is the promotion of exports and attraction of investments, since it seeks to contribute to the consolidation of Dominican exports as a basis for economic reactivation. .
