Santo Domingo. – The Development and Export Bank (BANDEX) disbursed an amount of RD$5,164,005,612.00 million pesos during 2023, to boost different sectors of the Dominican economy.
The information was offered by the general manager of BANDEX, Juan Mustafá, who announced the results of the credit disbursements, expressing his satisfaction with “the financial performance of the bank during the past year, and what he described as exceptional, which reflects the operational efficiency, effective risk management and the successful implementation of proactive strategies.”
When detailing some of the distributions of the credits, Mustafá highlighted the main sectors benefited by the disbursements, which include RD$1,698.26 million in social infrastructure, in commerce and manufacturing RD$736.29 million, in health RD$715.80, for export and tourism RD$695.24 million and to the SMEs sector for an amount of RD$635.00 million.
“The disbursements had a significant impact on the economic development of the country, with 71 companies benefiting from them, representing a notable increase of 57% in the amount of loans granted, compared to the previous year,” highlighted the general manager of the financial entity. .
Mustafá explained that BANDEX also has approved RD$2,857 million in new financing awaiting disbursement, distributed in 35 different cases.
The companies that have received loans from BANDEX are located in the provinces of Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, Hato Mayor, Barahona, Duarte, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Montecristi, Sánchez Ramírez, Santiago and Valverde.
“The Bank reaffirms its commitment to promoting economic growth through its financing and support programs for key sectors of the national economy,” said Mustafá.
