SANTO DOMINGO. -The Development and Export Bank (BANDEX) and the Bank of
Development of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), announced the signing of an agreement for a
line of credit for an amount of US$40.0 million dollars, with the objective of financing
development financing programs in the country.
The agreement was signed by Juan Mustafá, general manager of BANDEX, and Sergio Díaz-
Granados Guida, executive president of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean
(CAF).
Mustafa highlighted the importance of the agreement, noting that "it represents a step
significant towards strengthening the financing programs that are
promoted by BANDEX and therefore the boost of the Dominican economy".
“The funds will be available to finance commercial infrastructure projects, the
tourism sector, machinery and equipment purchase operations, as well as the manufacturing sector.

“The purchase operations of machinery and equipment will be directed to key sectors
such as health, agriculture, construction and innovation, in order to promote the development and
the modernization of these strategic areas for the Dominican economy,” he stated
Mustafa.
The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, was present at the signing of the agreement.
Corona, the Minister of Finance José Manuel Vicente, the Vice Minister of Public Credit
María José Martinez and CAF executives, which highlights the government's support for the
initiative and regional commitment to the economic development of the country.
