BANDEX signs cooperation memorandum with BPIFrance Assurance Export to assist exporters

The National Export Bank (BANDEX) signed a memorandum of understanding with the BPIFrance Assurance Export agency that will allow it to support and promote trade between France and the Dominican Republic.

The memorandum, which constitutes the basis for specific cooperation between the parties, establishes the commitment to promote and strengthen cooperation between both institutions.

In this way, and with the support of the experience of the French agency, BANDEX seeks to accelerate the development of banking products in the country necessary to boost exports based on the financing and insurance needs of local exporters.

The memorandum was signed by Guarocuya Félix, General Manager of BANDEX, and Alban D Herbes, Manager for Latin America of BPIFrance during an event at the bank's headquarters in the presence of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of France in the Dominican Republic, Mr. Didier Lopinot , and Jean-Baptiste Dabezies, Head of economic service at the French Embassy for the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

The parties agreed in advance that any support for projects that are subject to cooperation under the signed Memorandum will be provided in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations and more especially, with respect to applicable economic sanctions, export controls, the fight against corruption and money and asset laundering and regulations against the financing of terrorism.

Furthermore, any cooperation in providing support for projects will comply with the OECD Agreement on Officially Supported Export Credits and other related OECD agreements. BANDEX joined the OECD Consensus last July.

The General Manager of Bandex BANDEX valued the signing of this agreement with BPIFrance as very very important, because it is one of the main ECAs (export support agencies) at a global level, projecting the possibility of agreements between which consultancies could materialize. , financing and other benefits in favor of Dominican projects through the bank.

Didier Lopinot, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France in the Dominican Republic, also spoke at the event, thanking him for the opportunity to work in the future with the National Export Bank as a sign of the close relationship between the two countries.
