SANTO DOMINGO.- The National Export Bank, BANDEX, began a cycle of meetings and consultations with international cooperation organizations to manage financial and technical cooperation agreements. The aim is to strengthen the structure and internal capabilities of the entity and obtain new funds to channel through BANDEX.
Through a press release, economist Juan Mustafá Michel, General Manager of BANDEX, explained that “We are in a process of searching for key allies and growth opportunities with international cooperation organizations and friendly nations to have new funds available to boost the sector. exporter at a time when the country needs the reactivation of all its economic sectors and the production of foreign currency.”
Mustafá explained that they seek to expand the range of action of the institution, and focus on a process of strengthening the internal structure and capabilities to enable the effective channeling of resources and specialized financial products that can contribute to the economic activities of the Dominican exporter.
The BANDEX Manager said that they work together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) to identify the available funds that other countries and international development and cooperation organizations have with a vocation to be channeled through BANDEX.
The banking executive reported that they have also held meetings with various entities and that they are already developing a joint work plan, among which he mentioned the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Exim Bank of the United States, an entity dedicated to promoting exports. ; the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI); BPIfrance Assurance Export, the French export credit agency; the British government, among others.
The National Export Bank (BANDEX) is a public financial intermediation entity that aims to channel financial resources to promote exports. Juan Mustafá, who has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, assumed management of BANDEX on September 16.
