SANTO DOMINGO. – More than 45 employees of the Development and Export Bank (BANDEX) participated in a cleanup day at Manresa beach, in which they collected about 50 bags of solid waste such as metals, glass, plastics, fabrics, syringes, and organic waste.
In a press release, BANDEX reported that it organized, together with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MMARN), this initiative on Manresa Beach, located in Santo Domingo Oeste, in search of cultivating in its collaborators an awareness of commitment in the medium and long term. with the care of the environment.
The senior vice president of Talent Management, Haidy Román Castillo, highlighted that thanks to the reception of the call by the collaborators, they were able to contribute to cleaning up a large area of the aforementioned beach.
Román Castillo reported that BANDEX had the support and guidance of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MMARN), which also gave a motivational talk with the aim of raising the awareness of the participants and guiding them to make the day more productive.
Isabel Bonnelly, in charge of the community program of the MMARENA Environmental Education Directorate, called on the population to raise awareness, "not using foam containers, and reuse plastics to prevent our environment from continuing to be contaminated."
“This initiative seeks to put into practice BANDEX's commitment to contribute to the best social causes related to caring for the environment, raising awareness through the medium and long-term commitment of our collaborators, so that together we build a healthier planet,” highlighted Román Castillo, senior vice president of Talent Management at BANDEX.
BANDEX provided each volunteer with the necessary tools for the task of collecting solid waste, including bags and gloves for their protection and personal care.
