SANTO DOMINGO - More than 35 employees of the Development and Export Bank (BANDEX) joined a cleanup day at Güibia beach, where they collected 42 bags of solid waste, including metals, glass, plastics and organic waste.
This initiative, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MMARN), reinforces the bank's environmental commitment to its employees.
Haydi Román Castillo, Senior Vice President of Talent Management at BANDEX, highlighted the positive impact of the activity: “We are proud of the dedication of our collaborators, who demonstrate that, with individual commitment, we can contribute to the protection of our natural resources and generate a real change in the recovery of public spaces such as Playa Güibia.”
María Yepez Bueno, representative of MMARN, led the volunteers in the waste collection, which included an educational talk on reducing the use of plastics and non-biodegradable materials. BANDEX provided the necessary tools, such as bags and gloves, to ensure the safety of all participants.
This joint effort, which involved eleven members of MMARN, seeks to raise awareness about the importance of environmental preservation and civic responsibility. This activity reaffirms BANDEX's commitment to social and environmental causes, promoting a culture of responsible action among its employees and actively contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable planet.
